Bridal Boot Camp 101

I may have just completed my second half marathon, but right now it feels as though I’ve never worked out a day in my life.

Tonight started Bridal Boot Camp at my gym. I don’t know if I mentioned this, but I bought my wedding gown two sizes smaller than I am right now. I know, I know, that’s CRAZY, but there’s a method to my madness.

The BBC (bridal boot camp, not the British Broadcasting Corporation) is twice a week for six weeks and is taught by two women: Lee on Mondays and Janelle on Wednesdays.

Janelle, as it turns out, is my first cousin, which means I feel even more pressure to give 110%. You know how people say that they’d be in shape if they didn’t have anything else to do but work out? Well, that’s my cousin. She’s the personal trainer manager at my gym, so her job is to work out. All. The. Time. Whew. I get tired just thinking about it!
I wish I could tell you all that we did in the hour I was there, but the time flew by, which is probably a really good thing. We used a buso ball, a weight bar, gliding discs, weight balls; we did lunges, squats, other crazy squats, kicks, boxing, abs, glutes….I’m tired just typing it all again.

Here’s hoping I’ll make it through these next six weeks of hell.
