Chillin’ on a Monday

I have today off, because the magazine hosted a pretty big event all day yesterday. It’s a little weird not going into work, but I think I could get used to this!

I recently applied to be a Bee over at Weddingbee.com, one of the wedding sites I’m addicted to, and I got deeeeenied. Lame, but that’s okay. I can reapply in a month, but now I know what I need to work on over here. During the application process they check out your blog and see all your wedding-related material to date and see if you’d be a good fit. I think I need to step it up a notch, so within the next month you may start to see a lot more wedding talk on here…hope you don’t mind!

In somewhat related news, I’m going out to see Kenny this week and I can’t wait. Six weeks is just too long to be apart from someone you love. I hate saying that, though, since I know there are people deployed who haven’t seen the love of their lives for more than a year. Any amount of unwanted time away is terrible, how’s that?

He and I are heading to Savannah, Georgia, to celebrate the 4th of July and I’m pretty excited about it. Apparently they have fireworks along the river, and I found us an overly priced place to stay in the Historical District (seriously, I got this for $150 a night and it’s a cheapo Quality Inn. I don’t even want to tell you how much a nicer hotel costs out there, because it’s a little outrageous). Granted, I’m not excited about how hot and humid it’ll be, but I’ll try to suck it up and not complain too much. I’ve never been to Savannah, so I’m looking forward to checking it out.

This afternoon I scheduled a massage for myself thanks to a Christmas gift I got six months ago from my parents. I just haven’t had time to go get one up until today. Ha. Then after I get all nice and relaxed it’ll be time for my BBC.

Before the massage, my mom and I are headed to a paper store in town to check out prices for buying my invitation paper in bulk. I can’t wait to start making them! Okay. I know I shouldn’t feel guilty for not doing anything, but I need to at least pretend to be productive today.

Anything exciting in store for you this week?
