Over the Moon

This morning I woke up to a very white, early Christmas surprise. There’s a fresh blanket of snow covering everything outside. So while I’m inside snuggled up on my couch in a hoodie and blankets, I figured this would be the best time to fill you in on our honeymoon plans.

Actually, while I tell you about it and while you look at pictures, why don’t you listen to this song:

Kenny and I will stay in New Mexico the day after our wedding, but the following six days will be spent lounging, relaxing, and soaking up the sun in the……

Bahamas!

And the absolute best part is that our honeymoon was given to us by Kenny’s parents! I still can’t believe it, and I’m incrediably grateful.

When we started talking about where we wanted to go, talk of a cruise came up. But since we’ve both been fortunate to go on a cruise before, and since Kenny doesn’t really like being around large crowds of people, we thought an all-inclusive resort would be the next best option. Since it’s all-inclusive, it’ll be like a cruise, but on land, which means all our food and drinks (including alcohol) are included.

We’ve heard good things about Sandal’s resorts, so we thought we’d try one out. And with 13 different locations to choose from, I think we finally picked the Bahamas based on the short plane ride we’d have to take to get there.

Sandal’s Royal Bahamian Resort has an offshore island, seven restaurants, nine bars, seven pools, six whirlpools, two swim-up pool bars, water and land activities, a spa, scuba diving, nightly entertainment, and a perfect average temperature of 70.1 degrees.

Now how fun does that sound? But don’t take my word for it, check out these pictures from their website (sorry about the pause/play button on there, I had to take screen shots):

The offshore island:

Ooooh yeah! Since all of our drinks are provided, I plan on sipping pina coladas, margaritas, and other fruity and yummy drinks as often as possible! Basically, I plan on enjoying every single second that the Carribean has to offer.

Where did you go (or are you going) on your honeymoon? Have you gone to an all-inclusive resort? Do you have any tips to share?

  1. Ooooh! Sounds wonderful! We're trying to figure out the honeymoon thing right now, and Sandals is on our list of ones to consider…

  2. We went to Sandals in Antigua for our honeymoon and we couldn't have picked a better place. They treated us great and it was fun seeing so many other people on their honeymoons too. I have nothing but good things to say about Sandals and we are hoping to go back for our one-year anniversary. Great choice, you and Kenny will have a blast!

  3. Looks amazing!

We stayed at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico a couple years ago and it was one of the best vacations of my life! The staff will do anything in their power to please you and make your stay wonderful. I have no doubt that you two will enjoy every moment!
