Friday Fill-In (on Thursday)

Here are my answers (a day early) to Wife of a Sailor’s questions:
MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

1. What secret indulgence do you act on while your spouse is away? (from Devil Dog Darling) Oh, this is embarrassing, but not showering. I mean, I shower, but not every day (or every other day). I shower when I need to? I also stay in pajamas A LOT more than I probably should. That’s usually what happens the first week he’s gone.

If you were a spice, what would you be? (from New Girl On Post) Hmmm, I have a Green Chile Garlic spice that is AMAZING and I put it on everything. That’s what I’d be, because I’m a little bit spicy and sassy with a kick of flavor. Alsoo, because it reminds me of home and I am very much a New Mexican and proud of it.

Where do you go for support when your significant other is deployed? (from Texas Meets Washington) Anyone and everyone. During his first deployment I pretended I was this super strong military girlfriend and that I didn’t need any help. This time around I took support from anyone who would give it to me. Deployments are tough! I turned to you guys a lot and you helped me through days that I thought would never end. The blogging community (and Twitter, even) are absolutely amazing sources for military spouses. Thank you all again.

What is the oldest thing you own? (from A Troop’s Girl) Interesting question. I have a Bible that was my grandfather’s and part of it is written in Hebrew. I open it every once in awhile and it still has that perfect, old musky scent to it.

How did you vision your future pre-military? (from Daddy’s Duty) My husband has been in the military ever since we started dating. It’s funny, though, because I always envisioned my life would involve travel and moving around; I just didn’t know how that was going to be possible. I also never thought I’d be the first out of the majority of my friends to get married!

  1. Being in the military is certainly a way to travel and move about…even though they sent me to hole-in-the-wall NY where it snows 5 months of the year. But hey, I'm 20 minutes from Canada.

  2. lol! Don't feel bad about #1! I'm right there with you! I love not having to shave my legs if he's deployed over winter. 🙂

  3. I completely agree with number 1! I only shower when i get to feeling yucky or when I have to go out somewhere! And I don't shave my legs until they start to really bother me. I mean, it's not like there's anyone I'm going to offend because nobody is here!
