Together At Last

Hello and happy Monday! And to all of my new followers, welcome! I’m so happy you’ve decided to check out my blog.

I am beyond excited to start our wedding recaps. So excited that I started writing them awhile ago and can finally start publishing them! I’ll probably aim for posting one or two a week, depending on how quickly I can get my thoughts together.

Recaps, if you’re not familiar, are basically posts where I take you with me step-by-step and picture by picture on our wedding day. If you’ve been on Weddingbee you’ve probably seen recaps on there, so I’m taking my cues from that site, down to how they name their wedding day story.

Each blogger for Weddingbee picks a headline to distinguish their recaps, and for awhile I was drawing a blank for the title to our story. I was about to ask my husband if he had a clever headline, but I didn’t have to, he told me without telling me. Remember when I posted the article he wrote for Your Life is a Trip? Well, I fell in love with the title he wrote so much that I’m stealing it and using it for our recaps.

Together At Last. Oh how does that have such a sweet sound to it. We are finally—after three and a half years of long distance dating and then being separated by a deployment just days after we were married—together at last.*

I hope you enjoy what’s about to come! What’s your favorite part of a wedding?

*Actually, as I type this he’s across the country on a TDY, but he’ll be home soon 🙂

  1. I used to work at a banquet facility – so, I've "attended" hundreds of weddings. My favorite part, including mine, is when the bride walks down the aisle and she and her groom see each other for the first time.

  2. When the bride walks down the aisle and everyone looks at her, I always watch the groom. His expression is always priceless when he sees his bride coming toward him.

  3. Oh gosh, I definitely love what the two women above said – the groom's expression as his bride walks down the aisle. Such a precious moment. I also love the vows (whether they are written personally or more traditional) and when the two are announced as Mr. & Mrs. S0-and-SO. How cool to be one at last!

  4. I'm so excited to read your recaps! I want to see pics of the details and the ceremony and people having a blast at the reception. Well, come to think of it, the whole dang thing.
