Together at Last: Getting Pretty

I’ve been married for exactly eight months today, so in honor of our month-iversary I thought I’d share another snipped from our wedding day!

Missed something?

Together at Last: Fortune Cookie Surprise
Together at Last: Rehearsal Dinner
Together at Last: Rehearsing
Together at Last: Something Blue
Together at Last: Something Borrowed
Together at Last: Something New
Together at Last: Something Old
Together at Last

While I waited for my girls to show up, I took one of the longest, most relaxing showers of my life. I knew that would be the only time I’d have to myself for the entire day, so I let the moment sink in as much as possible.

A “before” picture after my shower.

Soon after getting out of the shower the girls started showing up, one by one. They brought their dresses, breakfast, snacks, and everything they needed to get all dolled up.

Several weeks before our wedding a song came out that literally had me jumping up and down whenever I heard it—even if I was in a car. “I’ve Got a Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas pretty much summed up the excitement I felt towards my wedding day, and I couldn’t get enough of the lyrics: “I’ve got a feeling that tonight’s gonna be a good night!” That song was the first tune on my “Happy Wedding Day” iTunes play list. So once everyone was there, I pressed play and we got the party started!

Four of the six getting ready…

I was about to blow dry my hair—like I’ve done for the past 26 years, but my hairdresser showed up just in the nick of time and took over the reigns. She kept commenting on how “zen” and calm I was. To be honest, I was a tiny bit nervous, but I was mostly focused on taking in the entire day since everyone told me how quickly it goes by.

Finally got around to eating the rice 🙂

I don’t have any more pictures of getting my hair done (boo) or getting my make-up done (double boo), but here’s a picture of my sister-in-law getting her make-up done by the same girl (SIL’s cousin) who did my fabulous makeup:

Seriously, how gorgeous is my sister-in-law?!

While I was off getting pretty, the girls slipped into their dresses:

Notice some of the pink pashminas!

And then it was time to slip into my dress…

Awww! I love the pictures! "I've Got a Feeling" is currently Little Butt's favorite song so I "get" to listen to it every time I get in the car! That is definitely a song to get you moving and ready.

Taking an extremely long shower the day of the wedding is a fantastic idea. I wish I would have planned that out better on my day – I waited until the last possible second to hop in, and I ended up feeling rushed! Go you for being so "zen!"

Love your recaps! I wish I would have thought of putting together a wedding day play list. I think it would have helped ease my nerves 🙂 Can't wait to see what's next!
