A Gift For You
I’ve been meaning to write this post for quite some time, because I happen to know some amazing people in real life who blog. These are blogs I highly reccomend, so consider this my New Year’s gift to you. I’d love to write a separate post about each and every one of them, but knowing the way I’ve been blogging lately, that may take all of 2011 before I’d actually get to it.
So check out my friends when you have some free time. They’re all amazing and deserve more readers! And because I don’t rank my friends by favorites, I’m listing their blogs below alphabetically. Enjoy š
Lindsay and I met via blogging and I’m so incredibly thankful for meeting her in Georgia. She has one of those personalities that’s magnetic and you just want to be around her. Her writing is witty, her photos are fantastic, and she’ll make you laugh. Without getting too much into detail (read her blog for more info), Lindsay’s husband was recently medically discharged from the military and they’re now adjusting to a life of civilian contracting. Lindsay is also an amazing photographerācontact her if you’re in Virginia and looking for pictures! (Her Facebook page: Lindsay Gray Photography)
I met Brooke last year through Lindsay and she’s quickly become one of my closest friends in Georgia. Brooke’s a firecracker when it comes to passion and is always there when you need her. She recently gave birth to her second babyāa boy!āand loves exploring her town. Brooke blogs about motherhood and being a military wife. And not only is she a great friend, but she’s also a photographer….
If you’ve been around my blog for awhile then you’ve seen Brooke’s photos before. She took some of my “trash the dress” pictures and she kept me company (and sane) at 3 a.m. for our homecoming pictures last July. Brooke photographs around Georgia and will be in Florida in March and Ohio in Februaryācheck her out if you need some photos taken! (Her Facebook Page: Brooke Ashley Photography)
I met CeCe at the same time I met Layla (a few blogs below!) and she’s been such a great help for all things concerning Georgia (she knows so much about Atlanta and Savannah, that she’s helped us with our travels!). She’s incredibly crafty and posts her D-I-Y projects on her blog so you can recreate them. I just love seeing new posts by her! (Her Etsy shop: Dill Pickle Picnic)
Mike and I met my freshman year of high school and we still hang out today. He’s currently going to school for illustration and design at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and dreams of designing theme park rides somedayāand I have absolutely no doubt that he will, because his work is outstanding. But don’t take my word for it, go take a look!
I’ve known Jenny for several years and she never ceases to amaze me. Not only is she gorgeous (she was Miss New Mexico!) and can blow you away with her musical talents, but she’s one of those people who has such a genuine heart and loves those around her. Miss Marlowe is actually becoming a Mrs. one week from today! She’s recently taken up photography, so if you’re looking for photo blog, go check her out! (Her Facebook Page: JM PhotoArt)
Laura has been my best friend since our freshman year of high school and was the maid of honor in my wedding! She recently started a 101 in 1001 days blog! Go help cheer her on!
Natalie and I just met a few months ago, but I feel like I’ve known her forever. Not only is she spunky, clever, absolutely adorable, and whips up amazing dishes that I drool over, but she’s also a new motherāI can only hope I have her stamina when I have kids! Her motto is “From scrath, with love, and a little sass” (I told you she’s adorable!), and you absolutely must check out her blog if you’re even slightly interested in food. In other words, go subscribe to Oven Love right now; I promise you won’t be dissapointed. (Her Facebook page: Oven Love)
Kathryn and I met when I moved to Georgia! She blogs about her faith, being a new mother, and aspects of military life. I love that she’s always doing reviews about different products and she doesn’t tip-toe around certain issuesāshe’ll tell it like it is. She also has a plethora of resources for military spouses! (Her Facebook page: Singing Through the Rain)
Abel and I met in high school and although we live several states away from each other, we still remain good friends. Abel recently moved to New York City and updates his Tumblr reguarly with short, fun snippets from his adventures in The Big Apple. (His Facebook page: Fans of Abel Horwitz)
I’ve only met Layla once, but that was enough for me to instantly like her. She tells things exactly as they are and holds nothing backāsomething raw and very refreshing to read.
Awe Jess thank you so very much! I am so happy that we have actually taken the time to get to know one another and I am so very lucky to have you!! You're amazing, simply put. <3 you!
Thanks for all the great recommendations! I hope someday to make it on your "met 'em!" list!!!
Aw thanks, friend! I can't wait to take our classes together and hang out a bit more before one or both of us move. Thank you for the blog love. š And back at ya.
