Bookmarked!

I’m trying really hard to spend less time online and more time being a book worm. I love reading and have no problem closing my laptop when I have a good novel to dig my nose into. (And for the record, when I say “novel,” I really mean chick-lit.)

Does anyone know what book this is? The irony is that it’s not a chick-lit book and it came out years ago, but it’s still one of my favorite reads.

So the other day I was browsing my latest internet trend, also known as Pinterest, when I saw something I knew I’d have to make: an envelope bookmark.

I have a tendency to lose any type of bookmark I use, so spending money on one is out of the question. I usually just grab whatever receipt is near me or (*gasp*) dog-ear my page and be done with it, but I always feel a little bit bad doing that. Seeing as how I’m not very crafty, this seemed like a project I could accomplish, and the best part is that it’s free

This lovely bookmark can be all yours in just two easy steps:

1. Find an envelope….any envelope (junk mail, anyone?)

2. Cut off the corner!

That’s it. Easy peasy, right? I went a whole extra step and spruced this one up for you by writing on it.

But honestly? I made my first one by just tearing the corner off an envelope (no scissors necessary).

  1. This is great! I use receipts too. The worst is when I have to return something and I remove the receipt. Then I'm screwed! I love this idea and Lord knows I have a boatload of junk mail lying around to do this!

  2. I love this, especially since I just misplaced my actual bookmark (again). I can't dog ear pages… it makes my soul cry. Now I'm off to find an envelope! Thanks 🙂

  3. I read all the freakin' time. Its just all for class and never for fun! I'm like you though, I usually use receipts because they're there and they're easy.

This is a super cute idea though!

  4. I read All. The. Time. And I have a bad habbit of foling the pages over so this is an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing!
