P90X: Week Seven/Eight
{Lean}
Last week was very difficult, but I feel like I picked myself up and rocked this week. For starters, I changed my diet. I don’t know exactly what I’d call what I’m doing (a mixture of South Beach, low carb/low glycemic), but it’s working. I’m down three pounds. THREE pounds (I haven’t seen or felt a weight loss in months…MONTHS!) and I feel fantastic; I have more energy and I just feel good. I’ve also started using MyFitnessPal.com to help track my food intake and calories.
Thank you all for your comments, emails, and tweets—your support is more than appreciated and is helping me so much! We’re heading into week 9 (day 60) next week and I’m hoping to post some before/after photos and stats. We’ll see how brave I am 🙂
Day 48: Monday {legs back abs}
I definitely felt stronger this time, but sometimes stronger makes me feel weaker. Does that make any sense? My legs felt a bit like jello and my arms were shaking. I think I’m putting more effort into these which is making it feel harder and, in turn, making me feel weaker. Calories burned: 355.
Day 49: Tuesday {kenpo}
The warmup for this annoys me—it seems a little too long and I don’t like the yoga-like moves they do. I still love the workout, though. I especially like the music that plays along with Kenpo. Plus, there’s nothing like kicking and punching in the morning! Calories burned: 335
Day 50: Wednesday {yoga}
My husband decided to sleep in today. I half-attempted doing a yoga video on Netflix. Calories burned: 115.
Day 51: Thursday {rest}
My husband went into work this morning ridiculously early. Since this is a recovery week we had two rest days scheduled (Saturday and Sunday) so we made today a rest day.
Day 52: Friday {Core Synergistics}
I’ve decided that this is another one of my favorite discs. I like the variety and the muscles it works. I like the pushups (never thought I’d say that) and the use of weights. I even upped my weights a little and could absolutely feel it later in the day. It’s amazing how much you can actually do when you push yourself. Calories burned: 350.
Day 53: Saturday {rest}
sleep is good.
Day 54: Sunday {kenpo}
We just did this workout, but it came up on our schedule again so we did it again. It’s a good thing I really like it, otherwise I’d probably look for another one to do instead. I think I like it because once the stupid warm-up is over (warm-ups are stupid, but I really dislike this particular one) it goes by really quickly and my heart rate is constantly up. Calories burned: 350.
AWESOME JOB! Whatever change you made with your diet must have been FABULOUS! I have seen so much great stuff about MFP that I signed up today for it! I had been doing WW and using their site, but enjoy MFP better.
Where did you find yoga on Netflix? Is it instant? Do I just search Yoga? I'm going to have to give that a try for my "off" work out days! I find all of these post so motivational! I don't think I could do the p90x, but I am so proud of you for your dedication and "kick butt ness"!
I think I'm no-reply blogger… I can't figure it out: TheYoungRetiree@gmail.com
Core synergistics is one of my favorites too! My workout partner and I aren't fans of Kenpo so we replaced it this week with plyometrics and we are absolutely in love with that workout. Congrats again on the 3 pounds lost! 🙂
You are amazing. 🙂 You motivate me SO MUCH. Josh and I have decided to try P90X (Again for me, first time for him!) after we build up some stamina/energy. I don't think we could do it just yet, but when we do, I'll definitely be coming back to re-read these!
