P90X: Week Six/Seven

*My husband and I started P90X on June 1, and we want to make this endeavor as successful as possible. I’m tracking my/our progress, by writing down how I feel after each workout and will post a weekly update. This may or may not be beneficial to you, but I think it will help us in the long run.*

P90X: Week Six/Seven
{Lean}

I firmly believe in only doing what your body can handle and making sure you can do a move properly, so I always try watching how a particular move is done before I attempt it and I don’t push myself too far. Please keep in mind that the following are my own thoughts and opinions; I’m just a girl trying to lose weight and get in better shape.

I’m going to be really honest with you—this week sucked. I had no motivation and complained during just about every workout. I felt like I hit a brick wall. I’m not sure if it’s because we went on vacation two (long, four-day) weekends in a row and got out of our regular routine, or what, but I was just not with it.

We switched up our workouts to fit with our schedule, and besides tracking my reps and the weights I used on my spreadsheet, I didn’t really write down how I felt for any of the workouts or what day we did them on…mostly because I didn’t like doing them at all. I’m glad I saw that picture (above) this morning, because it reminded me that even if I’m doing something it’s better than nothing, and even having an off week doesn’t mean the whole thing is over; it just means I need to try harder and do better.

Day 40: Monday {kenpo} Did Kenpo in our hotel room. Surprisingly, I burned 370 calories—up a bit from the previous week, so that’s awesome.

Day 41: Tuesday {rest}
We drove home from Orlando today and were going to workout when we got home, but decided not to in the end.

Day 43: Wednesday {rest}
I believe we slept in…

Day 44: Thursday {Core Synergistics}
Nothing exciting here. This was tough as always. Calories burned: 305

Day 45: Friday  {Cardio}
I’m so over this cardio workout. It’s a variety of the different videos (yoga, core, plyo, kenpo) but it’s getting boring since we just do the same moves over and over. I have a lot of other cardio DVDs, so we’re going to try one of them in place of this the next time cardio comes up. I burned a measly 224 calories…clearly I didn’t care about the workout.

Day 46: Saturday {rest}
I think we were supposed to do yoga here, but we didn’t. Brick. Freaking. Wall.

Day 47: Sunday {chest, shoulders, triceps}
Ouch. I like seeing that I’m improving, but it still feels just as hard every time. (Calories burned 245.) After this workout we did lawn work, too, so it was an extra tiring morning. (Calories burned 403.) Total calories burned 648

I’m absolutely not an expert on this in any way, shape, or form, but if you have questions, ask and I’ll try answering them next week. We’re really devoted to this workout and researching it will be beneficial to both of us!
