So Long, Farewell (and thanks for all the fish)…
I don’t really know how to write this or what to say. I don’t mean to be dramatic, but this is truly a strange experience. In just a few hours we’re getting on a plane and making our journey to Italy.
Italy. To live there. So. Freaking. Crazy.
I know deep down I’m (we’re) excited, but I think we’re just tired and anxious to get out there—this has been a long process that started back in January, and the last several weeks took a toll on us. There have been too many tears shed saying “see ya later” to friends and family, too many delicious “last” American meals eaten, and spent hundreds of hours driving around the country. That’s not to say we haven’t enjoyed our time, because we have, immensely.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the guest bloggers who’ve been on here lately—I have a few more to post, because once we get to Italy, because I have a feeling we’ll be just as busy. I’ll be back as soon as possible with pictures and possibly videos of what’s going on out there. I have a feeling my iPhone will be my new friend. Hooray for a decent camera phone!
Speaking of pictures, I started uploading some from the past few weeks, but the Internet at our hotel is slower than molasses and they’re not loading. (I sense a foreshadowing of the ‘net in Italy, but maybe we’ll luck out?) Here are a few from my phone (…isn’t instagram the coolest?!)

We spent yesterday, our last full day in America, wandering around Washington D.C. |
If you follow me on Facebook, I’m going to start posting photos on there more (in theory), so look for Italian pics to start popping up shortly! (Grandma, don’t worry, you don’t need to get Facebook. I’ll still post all the pictures on here, too!)
Well friends, thanks for all your well-wishes and excitement for this new adventure!
Here’s to Italy!
You always wanted to live in Italy and your dream is coming true!
Your father and I are praying for safe travels for you and Kenny.
I can't wait to hear and see all about your new adventure! Love you! 🙂
I swear the Internet here really isn't that bad. Ours is usually pretty fast.
That being said, enjoy your trip here. It's a bit over-whelming at first, but since you've been to Europe many times, I think you'll be great.
I hope I see you soon!!!
Have a wonderful trip!!!! 😀
I pray you have safe travels and it is as stress-less as possible on all of you! I am so excited to go on this journey with you.

Good luck to you and your hubby as you make the trip across the pond! You'll love it, I promise!! And when you guys get all settled in Italy and start traveling…make sure to head to Germany!! Maybe I'll see ya there! 🙂

Have a safe trip dear! :-)Have a safe trip dear! 🙂
Have a safe trip, Jess!
Bon voyage, dear Jess! Safe travels!
I felt exactly the same way when we moved to Hawaii. Although, fortunately, we do still get to eat normal food. =P But it's still far away and saying "see ya later" to our family, friends and favorite restaurants was definitely hard. Safe travels to all of you and I can't wait to read about your adventures in Italy! =)
I know I'm delayed, but I hope you got there ok!! Such an exciting new chapter in your life.
