Together at Last: The Newlyweds Pose

This post is part of my wedding recap series. Missed something and want to catch up? Click here for links to past “Together at Last” posts.

While I wish we allotted more time to take pictures with our bridal party, I loved taking pictures with my new husband. After we took pictures with them, we shooed our bridal party off to enjoy the cocktail hour. Then it was time to get down to picture-taking business!

Actually, getting down to “picture-taking business” meant getting comfortable. I ditched the heels and put on some comfy Chucks.

Unfortunately, this is the last time I saw my heels. I know they ended up at the reception, but they never made it back up to my room. If I spent more than $15 I’d probably be more disappointed.

Now that I was in comfy kicks again, we could finally get down to business:

We headed out of the courtyard to the fountain. If we had our wedding in any season other than winter, the fountain would be flowing. Personally, I think the setting is still gorgeous without the water.

Our photographer tried to capture the bird below in mid-air, but getting him perched on the fountain was the next best thing.

Then we were on our way—getting closer to the reception. This terrace below is another gorgeous location for weddings in any season other than the winter!

I mentioned this in the last post, but I wanted to say it again. Future brides, plan more time for your photos. I, personally, didn’t want to do a “first look,” but I do wish we had more time for pictures before heading into our reception.

Now that we were inside, the excitement started rising for us to get the party started.

Up next…Party Details
