Ciao! Mi Chiamo Jessica.

Happy Friday, everyone! If you’re new to this blog and stopping by from the hop, hang on just a sec and I’ll introduce myself. If you’re a regular here, hang on a sec and I’ll explain what’s going on today 🙂

Milspouse Bloghop hosted by Household6Diva & Roller Coaster

Today is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. There really is a day for everything, right? Well today, as a military spouse, I want to thank you—my readers—for not only reading my posts, but for commenting, emailing, tweeting, and constantly offering me your support. I’m extremely thankful for your friendship and loyalty.

I know several of you are not even affiliated with the military, so I can’t even begin to tell you how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness, kind words, friendship, and constant support; it’s truly uplifting.

To my fellow military spouses, fiances, and girlfriends: It’s nice to know that I’m not alone in this crazy adventure; I’m lucky to be surrounded—literally and virtually—by so many amazing, strong, and kind women. Thank you for all that you do; I appreciate you very, very much.

If you’re hopping over from The Household 6 Diva and Riding the Roller Coaster link-up, thanks for stopping by! Here’s a short and sweet summery of who I am (subscribe to my blog to get the long version!):

on a recent trip to Plitvice Lakes, Croatia
I’m Jessica (known as “jesstagirl” around the interwebs), my husband Kenny, is in the Air Force, and we have one dog named Bella.

Last year my husband got orders to Italy, so we packed our bags and moved to the other side of the world! My goal before we leave is to have a conversation in Italian without sweating profusely from nerves.

We’ve been married for two years and three months, but I still consider us newlyweds 🙂

Before sipping the most delicious wine I’ve ever tasted in Italy, we lived in middle Georgia and lived off peaches, catfish, and biscuits and gravy (not really, but gosh are those things good!).

We call Albuquerque, New Mexico, home. I absolutely love it there.

I’m a writer, but due to some crazy international rules, I’m not writing for profit these days. You can find me jabbering on SpouseBuzz, pretending I have a social life on Facebook, chatting up a storm on Twitter, and sharing way too many photos on Instagram

We’re preparing for our longest deployment to date.

I love chile (red and green), unsweet tea, and early morning road trips. I hate humidity, scooping out the last bit of peanut butter, and I really hate scary movies.

I like to blog about anything and everything, but these days you’ll find a lot of posts from our adventures around Europe. I love traveling, so we’re taking full advantage of living out here.

So there you have it! That’s me in a nutshell. I’d love to hear about you (even if you’ve been reading for awhile). Leave a comment with your name, blog name/address, and your favorite flavor of ice cream or gelato 🙂
Thanks again for stopping by, I hope to see you again soon, and happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day!

How amazing to live in Italy! We're stuck at Fort Campbell and have been here since Jay got out of basic training, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that we get orders to somewhere interesting soon!

My favorite flavor of ice cream is strawberry.. I've never had gelato, which is pretty horrible since I'm half Italian.

  12. Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day! I know growing up you had no clue that your life would end up where you are, and I also know that you would not trade it for anything!
I am so thankful that you have the support of all of your fellow bloggers, you are blessed to be involved with such a wonderful blogging community!

  13. Thanks for all you do! Hubs is in the army and we are preparing for our PCS to GA, but it seems like Italy would have been a better choice based on your pictures! Hubs has been back for about 6 months, so the last few months have been quite the roller coaster between the holidays, his return and pcsing now!

  14. Nice to meet you! Happy MilSpouse Day!
I am jealous that you are in Italy, I have a childhood friend there and her pictures on Facebook are breathtaking!
My husband is in the Marine Corps so the chances of us going to Europe are slim, but a girl can dream, right?

  15. Hello! I hopped on over for Milspouse appreciation day. I love the feel of your blog and the frankness of your words. AND I live vicariously through your European adventure (we had ours a few years back and loved every minute.) Can't wait to read more about your beautiful life.

  16. Welcome to Europe! We're kinda neighbors lol. We are in Germant for the time being. Happy milspouse appreciation day!! And I'm a chocolate ice cream lover 😉 lol

  17. Hello! Stopping by from the blog hop. I love you layout. I would love to go to Europe, but we are Marines, so I'm stuck in Asia for now. Can't complain though!

  18. We lived in GA before moving to Europe also, but we ended up in Germany. We're planning to take advantage of traveling also, although so far we've just been within a couple hours of our city. I would also like to have a conversation, although in German, before leaving here and not be nervous. So far I'm just excited if I get through a transaction without having to ask someone if they speak English.

  19. Nice to meet another AF wife! That's awesome that you're stationed in Italy right now! I'm looking forward to our overseas PCS someday. 🙂 Praying for you guys as you face that deployment…

  20. I know moving is challenging but Italy sounds lovely! We almost moved there on my husband's last assignment but I stayed stateside instead.

  21. Finally catching up on the Military Spouse Appreciation Blog Hop!

I am in love with gelato… when I studied abroad I lived on the stuff! Any of the berry flavors have my heart forever. I wish the Marine Corps had a duty station in Italy, that would be a dream come true for me. I just started following your blog but I hope your deployment goes smoothly and I will keep you in my prayers.

  22. Thank you so much for joining in on the blog hop! And sorry it took me so long to come and visit. It was great reading your party post and getting to know you a little more. 🙂 Hope you had fun visiting the other ladies on the list and that you had a fabulous Mil Spouse Appreciation Day!!!

  23. I am a little late reading from the BlogHop. It has been a little crazy over here in Germany with the deployment. I love love love gelato!!!!
