Busy!
Wow, it’s been awhile. With the exception of my Five for Friday posts, it’s been a little quiet around here lately. I’ve even had a few tweets and emails asking where I’ve been. It’s not that I don’t have anything to say, because the exact opposite is true. I have a handful of trips to share with you, stories to share, and waaaaay too many pictures to post. The problem is that I’m Busy*…which isn’t actually a problem at all. *I’m so busy I feel the need to capitalize the “b”. Just go with it.
On a scale of being completely lonely and bored out of my mind at home during this deployment or so busy that I routinely come home past my “bedtime,” I’ll take the latter any day of the week. Time is certainly flying by, and I’m loving all the things I’m doing to keep occupied out here.
The spouses in this squadron are fantastic and we’re keeping each other on our toes. Not to mention, my other friends are making sure I’m not wallowing in sadness at home. On any day of the week I’m either playing BINGO on base (I brought home $300 cash tonight!), attending a book club, going on trips around Italy (I saw a Romeo and Juliet opera in Verona this weekend!), spending time at the beach, going out to dinner, grilling with friends, getting hair cuts, seeing movies, and the list goes on and on and on!
And speaking of busy, I’m actually heading back to America later this week! I’ve been dreaming of walking through Target, dipping French fries into a Wendy’s Frosty, getting a Route 44 Sonic happy hour drink, and stuffing my face with so much chile that I’ll probably need to swim in a pool of milk to cool off, so I decided to go back home. While I’m there I get to meet my adorable new nephew, go to my high school reunion, bask in New Mexican sunsets and monsoons, and hang out with my friends and family. I can’t wait!
Since I know I’ll be soaking up “home” and probably won’t feel like writing much while I’m there, I have several fantastic guest bloggers lined up over the next couple weeks to keep this place afloat. I’ve read their posts and they’re all great, so I hope you show them some love when you read their stuff.
I love playing bingo!!!!!! 🙂 Hope you enjoy your trip.
I have never played BINGO … but I clearly need to fix that. Enjoy your time in the States!
Please have an honorary Frosty + fries for the rest of us overseas spouses!
I wish my husband's organization had a tight knit group like yours. I've never had a chance to meet any of the other wives, and we don't have a key spouse. SUre would have helped this deployment. Glad you are getting out and about!
I am so glad to hear you have so much going on to look forward to!! Can't wait to hear about your trip to the US!
