Bumpdate: 22 Weeks

Well, this week was quite an adventure! We had a visitor join us all the way from Germany! Miss Casey (We Took the Road Less Traveled) stayed with me, Pickles, and Bella all week! We gallivanted around Venice, tasted wine (her, not me!), and spent way too much money on ceramics in Nove. We also saw some eye candy with a White Collar marathon (Matt Bomer, anyone?!), ate apple pie for dinner, hung out with other friends (shout out to Tessa and Amanda!), and chatted about expat life, blogs, and everything in between. Basically, it was an awesome blate (blog + date = blate!)!

She also gave me a break from setting up my camera in my dining room—on top of empty boxes, no less—and took the bumpdate pic for me this week. Thanks for keeping me company this week, Casey! I can’t wait to read all about it on your blog!

How far along:
22 weeks

Fun facts:

She’s starting to have sleep cycles and will sleep about 12-14 hours a day, which means she’s moving around the rest of the time! Lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are more distinct and toothbuds are developing beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but the irises (the colored part) still lack pigment (I hope she’ll have my husband’s eyes).

How big is the baby: The baby is now around 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash or papaya) and is almost 1 pound!

Sleep: good. I like sleep.

Best moment of the week:

Feeling and seeing her kick. I love watching my belly move when she moves.

Food Cravings: pop-tarts and breakfast burritos.

Food aversions: Nada

Movement:
YES! And now I can see it and feel it on the outside. It’s just so fun 🙂

Gender: GIRL!

What I really miss: Wine.

Most worried about: my next appointment.

I’m looking forward to: Just feeling her move more. It’s the best part of my day.

Anything else? We received some news this week about Pickles and I don’t feel comfortable discussing it quite yet. If you’re the praying type, prayers are much appreciated. If prayers aren’t your thing, I’ll gladly take your good thoughts and good juju!
