Bumpdate: 33 Weeks
Thirty-three weeks. I’m having a hard time grasping my mind around that number, and I’m pretty sure you’ll be hearing that phrase from now until I deliver this little pickle. Things are getting a lot tougher lately, and I’m just feeling very pregnant. My lower back is starting to ache and the intense need to pee (pardon the bluntness) all the time is getting ridiculous. Sleeping is getting more tough since it’s hard to get comfortable. Not only that, but I started having Braxton Hicks contractions earlier this week, so that’s been interesting. (Braxton Hicks are totally normal and some women get them much earlier than now. It’s just your body preparing for actual labor.)
The twice-a-week NSTs (non-stress test) are going well. Her stats, according to the techs, make her look “happy” and “beautiful.” Those are two wonderful things this soon-to-be mom loves hearing. My amniotic fluid levels also look good.
Anyway, that’s my weekly pregnancy update 🙂

My hunch about my auto focus being broken was pretty much confirmed this week. I switched lenses, hoping that would solve the issue, and it didn’t…as evidence by my fuzzy head above. |
How far along: 33 weeks (+ 2 days today)
Fun facts: Her bones are hardening, her eyes are starting to stay open when she’s awake, and her brain is still developing.
How big is the baby: She weighs a little more than 4 pounds (like a pineapple or cantaloupe). and is more than 17-inches long. Apparently she’ll grow an entire inch this week.
Sleep: Still falling to sleep fine, but I’m up every two hours, at least, to use the bathroom. It got me thinking about just how hard it’ll be once I start feeding in the middle of the night and I have to be awake longer than a few minutes. I’m also just uncomfortable sleeping lately. My back will hurt or the baby will not like the position I’m in and kick me until I move, or a number of other things.
Best moment of the week: Going to my NSTs this week. I like hearing her little heart beating. She’s also head down (has been for awhile), but is apparently facing the “right” way, so that’s good.
Food Cravings: Still eating lots of cereal. My cravings for all things sweet seems to finally be diminishing a little bit.
Movement: Yeup. I’m starting to figure out her schedule and I’m tempted to write it down and see if it’s similar when she’s born. She’s awake almost every two hours on the dot.
Gender: GIRL!
What I really miss: I’m still congested (it may be more of a pregnancy thing at this point) and my cough is still around. I would LOVE to not cough anymore. One of my doctors is finally concerned enough about it that if it doesn’t go away by this coming Thursday, she’s going to look into it more.
Most worried about: My cough still being around when I go into labor. I start coughing when I go up my stairs, so it kinda freaks me out what’ll happen during labor.
I’m looking forward to: My husband coming home. I think I’ll be breathing a lot easier once he’s here.
Anything else? We’re starting to buy things and our house and car is filling up with baby things. It’s just surreal. I also need to figure out what I’m going to wear for my husband’s homecoming…priorities, I know.
Ah! You look great! Maybe the lack of sleep at the end of pregnancy is your bodies way of preparing you for what's to come? Either way, though, it sucks!
I understanding stressing about your homecoming outfit, I mean, you've been waiting for this moment for how long?

You look amazing! Good luck to you!
I craved cereal like crazy when I was pregnant!! YOu're looking fab girl.
Your outfits are always so dang cute in these pics. I have to rummage through my closet and beg things to come out for me to wear! You look phenomenal.
I was so excited to see this pop up in my Google Reader 🙂 I cannot imagine the paperwork aspect of things, but you are absolutely right that is what husbands are for! I'm sorry your back is starting to hurt though, I had some back pain in college and I know it was the pits. Are you able to stretch it at all? Most of the exercises I know require laying on a hard surface (ie; the floor) and at 33 weeks! pregnant I'm not sure if that would be a good idea.
