Bumpdates: Weeks 34 and 35
I wasn’t kidding when I said I was going to take a little blogging break and enjoy time with my husband! Thanks for being patient while this little space grows some spider webs. I have several posts started, but I haven’t been online long enough to actually finish themāwe spent more than half a year without seeing each other, so I still kinda like having him around all the time, which means the laptop’s been staying closed a lot lately. Don’t worry, I’ll clean up those webs all in due time once he goes back to work.
Needless to say, We’re definitely taking advantage of this R&R, but I don’t want to fall behind on the bumpdates, especially since we’re getting closer and closer to term (cue freak out). So here’s week 34 (almost two weeks ago), also known as the week/photo where I realized how big my belly really is. Just kidding. It’s better known as the-week-my-husband-got-to-feel -his-daughter-wiggle-around. Seeing his face light up that first time he felt her move was absolutely amazing.

I’m extremely thankful that we’ve fallen back into the swing of things pretty easily this past week and a half. Right off the bat we started menu planning again (hooray for eating real meals again!), and he made me a deeeelicious homemade cheesecake for my birthday last week. But on top of that, we managed to get away for the weekend. We only had two days to spare between doctor’s appointments, but we spent those days in Milan, which is where the photo below was taken (outside Santa Maria della Grazia, where Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper is featured).

Our time in Milan was wonderful and I hope to do a quick post on our time there. I almost overdid it by walking around a bit too much, but he kept me on track and made me sit down and drink plenty of water since we were out and about, so we kept those Braxton Hicks contractions under control.
Speaking of the baby, we’ve also been working on getting ready for Miss Pickles to join us. We now have a crib and a dresser and her bassinet is set up, so I can work on getting things organized. I have a baby shower coming up this Saturday that I’m REALLY excited for and then we’re going to town (on Amazon and Target.com) buying all the things we still need to get for her.
We also had a maternity shoot yesterday to get some pictures of the bump! (I told you we’ve been busy!!) I know I’ve been taking weekly photos, but it was extremely nice to have someone else behind the camera instead of me putting it on the self timer and trying not to make a ridiculous face in my dining room. The photographer posted a teaser and I’m beyond excited to see the rest of them:

Eeee, the letter from daddy is so sweet! I'm SO happy for you that he's home to enjoy these last few weeks. We're ticking off the days over here, waiting and waiting… even though I've been (technically) pregnant since May, "one week from Saturday" suddenly feels overwhelmingly close!
Can't wait to see the rest! You look gorgeous, mama!
