Get Fresh and Support the Troops

Being a SAHM mom is way more demanding than I ever thought it would be. Even the easy days when my husband is around to lend an extra pair of hands can be tiring. I almost always have some sort of sticky food somewhere on my body and clothes (from her, not leftover from me, I promise), I’m constantly chasing her around and picking her up, and I change countless stinky, dirty, icky diapers throughout the day. It’s a dirty job, but someone’s gotta do it!

I’m still breastfeeding and as much as I’d love to have a glass of wine to unwind at the end of each day, just a few sips make me really tipsy (so not exaggerating about what a lightweight I am)! I know it’s safe to do in moderation, but my tolerance is so shot that I feel drunk, buzzed, and tipsy too fast and for too long. So, my go-to method for relaxing is taking a bath. A nice, long bubble bath in my giant bathtub is my jam. (I literally had a couple dreams about coming back to this tub when I was pregnant and living in Italy.)

I’m pretty darn picky when it comes to bath products. I like scented lotions and body washes, but only to an extent since a lot of them are too way powerful for their own good, and half the time, lotions are either too oily, too creamy, or end up leaving me drier later. Getting a headache from a strong scent sort of defeats the purpose of relaxing in a hot tub. Because of that, I’m always hesitant when I pick up something new. I’m a hard sell.

With that said, I was honestly really nervous when Get Fresh asked me to try their Warrior Princess line of bath and body products. I almost said no, but I loved what the products represent: they’re dedicated to men and women in the military and Get Fresh donates more than 30% of their profits from the Warrior Princess line to charities such as Healing4Heroes (a charity that trains rescue dogs to become service dogs for returning veterans who need help successfully reintegrating back into society).

I also loved that the CEO wrote me a personal letter and told me about himself: he has two twin sons at West Point and a brother, nephew, and dad who all served in the military. I appreciate that he gets it and is trying to make a difference with his products. Get Fresh is a family-run business that’s been around for the past 16 years and is in spas and resorts all around the world.

Knowing all of this, I was really, really pulling for the products to live up to my standards, and I’m happy to report that they exceeded my expectations. I first tried their bath salts in my bath one night and while I still love my bubbles, the salts worked their magic, because I stepped out of that bath with my skin feeling incredibly silky and soft. Dare I say, I felt…baby soft? I did, indeed! I almost put their lotion on after the bath, but I skipped it and went straight to bed. Y’all, you know that feeling when you get into a bed with clean sheets and freshly shaved legs? That’s how it felt.

The next morning, even though I didn’t need it, I tried their lotion and was prepared for the blackberry vanilla scent to be a little too overwhelming. Well, color me surprised when it wasn’t just tolerable, but delightful. It also wasn’t oily, wasn’t too thick, and didn’t leave a film on my skin. My verdict: love it.

They also sent me their foot kit to try, complete with a buffer, sugar scrub, foot repair creme, and body creme. I got a pedicure last week, but since we’re leaving on our cruise tomorrow (yup, I’m writing this post on Saturday and scheduling it for today), I decided my tootsies could use a little TLC before they relax on a beach. Can I just tell you how awesome the sugar scrub is? Oh, I can’t wait to put it all over my body! It’s made with sugar, shea butter, and olive oil, which are some of my favorite things!

Okay, enough of me gushing about this collection—it’s time for you to try it out for yourself. Enjoy 20% off the entire site (through March 4) with the promo code: JESSICA. Now you can try out the Warrior Princess line or anything else from Get Fresh!

How do you relax after a long day?

  1. I think you get your low tolerance to alcohol from me, your father always said that I was a cheap date! I also think you got your scent sensitivity from me. On your recommendation I will give Get Fresh a try! Hope you are having a great time on your cruise!
