A Happy Home Is… {finish this}
The picture below has nothing to do with this post, but my husband took it last week on his phone and I think it’s really pretty. Plus, we had a lot of rain on Monday and it washed away all of the cherry blossoms from our tree, so I’m glad he took the picture when he did.
It’s Wednesday, or “Hump Day,” if you will, which also means it’s time for another round of “Finish This…” The bold section is the prompt, followed by my answer.
On Saturday morning, I usually kinda sleep in? I definitely snuggle with my husband a little more until we both decide to get up, which is usually when the little one starts squirming around 7:30 or 8 am. He usually gets her up and then they both come back to bed, where we’ll play for another half hour or so. It’s fun since we’re all in our jammies with sleepy eyes. Julia’s typically a delight in the morning, so I like that the three of us just get to lounge and hang out together in bed before we start our day.
I feel beautiful when let my hair down. Anyone with a baby knows how hard it is to keep your hair down, so I don’t often have it in anything other than a messy pony tail. But when I actually take the time to *ahem* brush my hair and leave it down, I feel sort of pretty.
I wake up every morning to noise. It’s either Julia’s grunting and babbling or my husband’s alarm buzzing in the distance. I’ve grown accustomed to sleep through his alarm, but if I hear Julia making noise I’m awake a lot faster.
A happy home is an organized mess filled with laughter, hugs, and “I love you’s.” (Seriously, I can’t tell you how many things we lose in this house when we actually clean it up. An organized mess is definitely the way to go.)
When I have down time, I should do more things. I need to make an ongoing to-do list of projects I want to do, so that when I’m bored I can look at that list and start crossing stuff off. Yesterday, for example, I refreshed Twitter for the hundredth time in two minutes when I realized I could be doing something else. So I busted out the Clorox wipes and cleaned Julia’s foam play mat. Mission accomplished…
I’m digging next week’s prompts, and I’d love to hear your answers to them!

I love your idea of a happy home!!!
Such a happy home – and pretty picture! Good job, husband! š Mm…and my favorite clothing item? My converse sneakers. The beat up, crazy dirty ones from high school with history. They're my absolute fave š
Awwww love your answers š It is definitely hard to let your hair down. Seems like sleeping in is a luxury these days isn't it?
The flower picture is pretty, good job hubby.
I like the "finish this" concept! Very clever. The flower picture is beautiful!
My house is definitely unorganized. With three kids organization just isn't possible. I tried for a long time and finally I just gave up.
This is a beautiful post! My favourite vacation spot is anywhere in nature or near the ocean with my boyfriend. I like adventures so anyplace we've had to trek to is a bonus.
