My TV Show Line-up: What I’m Watching this Season

I’ve been waiting weeks—weeks—for this week to arrive, and it’s finally here: it’s time for new TV shows! The summer can be such a lull since there aren’t any new episodes of my favorite shows. Yeah, I’m sure it’s because we’re supposed to be outside enjoying the extra sunlight, but y’all already know my feelings about being outside past 9 am in Georgia.

During the summer we watch a lot of HGTV and the Food Network when there isn’t anything else on to watch. Don’t get me wrong—I love those stations and can literally binge watch their shows all day, but I’ve missed my people. You get so involved with story lines and characters, and you end up missing them. You do miss them, right?

I've been waiting weeks—weeks—for this week to arrive, and it's finally here: it's time for new TV shows! What TV show is on your must-watch list?

Okay, so here’s what I’m watching this season.

Most of the shows are oldies, but goodies, and there are a couple new ones thrown in there for good measure. I’d love to hear what you’re watching during those prime-time hours, especially if they’re new—I don’t want to be the last one to know about some awesome TV show out there.

Monday:
Switched at Birth (ABC Family)
Jane the Virgin (The CW)

Tuesday:
NCIS (CBS)
Limitless* (CBS)
Best Time Ever with NPH* (NBC)

Wednesday:
Modern Family (ABC)

Thursday:
Bones (FOX)
Scandal (ABC)
and probably Grey’s Anatomy (ABC), because even though I’m adamant about not wanting to watch it, because it really should’ve ended last season, I know I probably still will. Although, it’s a good things Bones is on at the same time, so maybe I won’t see it as much.

Sunday:
Quantico* (ABC)

The asterisks (new shows):

I've been waiting weeks—weeks—for this week to arrive, and it's finally here: it's time for new TV shows! What TV show is on your must-watch list?

Best Time Ever with NPH: This show is fun, but it’s not going to be a must-watch every week. If I miss it, I’m not going to rush to find out what happened. It’ll be cool if I see it, but that’s about it.

Limitless: I’ve only seen one episode, but I’m hooked and want more. It’s an adaptation from a movie starring Bradly Cooper, and—spoiler alert—he’s making appearances in the TV show as well. Also, fun fact: Ron Rifkin is also in it, and he and Mr. Cooper starred in Alias together. (Alias will always be one of my favorite shows.)

Quantico: Give. Me. MORE! This is one of those shows that I don’t want to have to wait an entire week to watch. The first episode gave us so many great twists, that I’m almost considering not watching it, but recording them so I can binge watch them later in the season. Don’t worry….that won’t happen. I have no self-control.

What are YOU watching this season?

Okay, your turn. Is there a common TV show up there for both of us? Am I missing out on some fantabulous new show that I must watch? Tell me!

  1. I know it’s probably cheesy, but I fell in love with E!’s “The Royals” last season and can’t wait until season 2 starts Nov. 15! I think it’s a super underrated show and soo good! I think you can watch some episodes on Eonline, too, if you’re interested. 🙂

    1. Oh, I’ve seen commercials for “The Royals,” and I’ve been meaning to watch an episode. It looks like a cross between a reality show and fiction, right? I may just try to watch one online sometime!

  2. Is Jane the Virgin back on already? I am watching Switched at Birth, Mindy Project, HTGAWM, Dancing with the Stars for Bindi Irwin and Alexa Vega and her husband, also OUAT, Americas Next Top Model (not sure why). Oh and Scream Queens! I am just excited for new shows and new seasons.

      1. Oh okay, I was scared I may have missed it. lol. It reminds me of a spanish novela for the drama and Gina R is adorable!

  3. We went so long without any type of tv channels that I fell behind in all my shows. (Like, years and years behind.) But I have started watching Modern Family, which I’ve really been enjoying, and I love watching Bones on Netflix! One of my favorites!

    1. My husband randomly got me Modern Family before he deployed last year so I’d have something funny to watch while he was away—I had only seen a few episodes here and there before that, but I totally got hooked. It’s so funny! And Bones—haha…I saw it on an airplane of all places and thought it was the stupidest show ever, but then some girlfriends were hooked on it, and I wanted something more in common with them, so I started watching it from the beginning, and got hooked on it, too!

  4. I’m watching a lot of the same shows you are!! Just add in the rest of the NCIS line {LA and New Orleans} and all of the Chicago Fire/PD/Med shows, and that’s my lineup. A lot of rescue/fire shows and cop shows around here!!!

  5. I watch most of yours but also Nashville on Wed night and Blacklist on Thurs night. and Sister wives on Sunday night- started watching from the beginning and now I just can not stop watching it, like I need the ending to the story.
