Spending the Weekend in Savannah, Georgia

Savannah, Georgia, has always been our happy place. It was one of the first places my husband and I visited before we were married. I wish we’ve been there more, but over the past seven or eight years we’ve probably been there around a dozen times. It’s one of those places where you can just get away from it all. There’s delicious food, shopping, gorgeous views around every corner, and there’s always something to do.

We spend the weekend in Savannah, Georgia, because I’ve been itching to have family photos taken by my friend Brooke who just so happens to live in Savannah now. We love the city, so what better way to capture it forever than with some professional pictures? The photos won’t be ready for another few weeks (sorry for the tease), but here are some pictures I snapped from over the weekend.

And, because Brooke is amazing and already posted some teasers from our session, here are a few professional pictures of my family in Savannah (minus the first one, obviously, since that’s the one I took behind the scene):

Okay, here are the ones she took:

AHHH! I can’t even handle it! I’d be completely satisfied if those were the only pictures I could have from our session, but the fact that I know she took more than 700 makes me want to do a happy dance! It’ll be a few more weeks before we get them all back, but I’ll share more with you when we do!

Oh, and because you can’t visit the south without a little taste of the swamp, here’s a fun picture from lunch before we headed home:

Don’t worry…it was a fake alligator 🙂 I just couldn’t believe she played it up for the camera! Thirteen months old, and such a little ham! Her sister, of course, was being a toddler and didn’t want to take a picture in the “alligator’s” mouth, but after the baby did it, she had to, too:

This was at The Crab Shack on Tybee Island. I couldn’t resist going somewhere that had some live alligators to see!

Until next time, Savannah!

Have you been to Savannah? Don’t you just love it! I’m working on a post with our favorite places to stay and eat while you’re in Savannah, so if you’ve never been, or want to go again, be sure to check it out!
