A few weekends ago we road-tripped down to Savannah, GA, for a couple of days. Savannah is easily my favorite spot in Georgia, and I wanted to visit one last time before we moved. There was also an ulterior motive for visiting the city oozing with southern charm: family photos.
You’ve heard me rave about her before, but my friend Brooke from Brooke Ashley Photography is a genius behind the camera. We met when we both lived in Georgia the first time (about six years ago), and though we’ve both lived in different states/countries since then, we manged to make our way back to the Peach State. She took my maternity photos when I was pregnant with Madilyn, and now that she lives in Savannah, I knew I wanted her to take family pictures before we moved; plus, I couldn’t resist the gorgeous city of Savannah as the backdrop.
We were there at the absolute PERFECT time. The weather was fantastic and everything was just starting to bloom. I can’t get enough of the Spanish moss dangling from the trees, and the pops of color everywhere made this session simply divine.
I’ll stop gabbing now and let the pictures do the talking.
Ah, amazing, right?! I may not like a lot of things about Georgia (okay, mainly the humidity, bugs, and sweet tea), but for those five weeks out of the year that I don’t have to deal with the heat and flying insects, I simply love this place.
If you’re in Savannah, middle Georgia, or anywhere in the area, do yourself a favor get in touch with Brooke (website, facebook, ). I seriously don’t know how she captured the girls the way she did—every single picture is perfect; there’s really no other way to describe it, and I’m so overwhelmed with how happy I am that they’ll be in our home—wherever we may live—for years to come.
I’ve said this a time or two before, but if you’ve never had family photos done, I highly recommend it. I know they’re a financial investment, but they’re just that: something you will keep and treasure forever.
Thank you, Brooke, for your friendship and for the photos you’ve taken of my family over the years. If you ever want to visit us in California you have a place to stay (in exchange for pictures, of course)!
*This is not a sponsored post. I paid for our photos just like everyone else…I just wanted to brag about my friend’s talent and highly recommend her!
