Oh, BOY!
So it looks like this mama’s intuition was right, because even though we really, really wanted another girl, the results are in, and there was a definite piece of anatomy popping out during the ultrasound that my girls didn’t have.
Yup…we’re having a boy!!!
Unlike the last two times (here and here), we didn’t do any fancy-schmancy gender reveals. I know that makes me a terrible blogger, but I just didn’t have time or the energy to come up with anything creative this time around.
*Note to all first-time pregnant mama bloggers: You may have all the time in the world, and are super duper excited, but don’t overdo it and go above and beyond during your first pregnancy, because there’s no way you’ll be able to keep it up for sequential kids…unless you’re super woman, of course.
Besides, my mom would’ve blown any fun reveal we had planned, because the second she stepped off the airplane she asked my almost-four-year-old blabbermouth daughter if she was getting a brother or a sister, and Julia proudly yelled, “A BROTHER!”
So how am I feeling? Like, really feeling about this? I’m happy. Julia’s been asking for a little brother, so she’s pretty much over the moon. I’ve also done some window shopping the past few days, and there are some darling things out there for little boys. Plus, I’ve had more than a few people tell me how smitten little dudes are with their moms, so I’m looking forward to having a mama’s boy on my hands.
Much to my husband’s dismay, I’m not quite ready to get rid of the girls’ old clothes, but I do see a purge of their things in the near future.
Needless to say, we’re definitely in for an adventure in about four months!
How exciting! I wanted another girl with my second pregnancy and by the ultrasound there was no denying that wasn’t going to happen. I went through a bout of grief over not getting what I wanted, but I knew from the beginning it was a boy. I will say that God knew exactly what he was doing when he answered my second girl prayers with a baby boy. You’ll hear it until you give birth that boys are sweet on their Mamas, and it’s true, but a Boy also does something to a Mama’s heart that I can’t explain. I love my little girl dearly, but that little boy of mine makes my heart melt just by looking at me. You are going to love being a Boy Mom and the girls sound like they are so so excited! Congratulations!
I’m so excited for you! I would’ve been excited either way though 😉 just fun to have another pregnancy buddy.
Boys are so much fun! Congrats!
Congratulations!!!! Your girls will be wonderful big sisters to a little guy!
Having a few of each will be fun. And some of those “girl” clothes can totally be used for a boy anyway. 😉
