Introducing Logan John!

I’m so excited to introduce you all to the newest addition to our family: Logan John! He was born after a very fast labor on April 7, and weighed in at—wait for it—10 pounds, 5 ounces! (Not a typo; he basically looks like a toddler, and I’m regretting opening the pack of newborn diapers before he was born.)

His full birth story will come later, because we’re all recovering over here. Logan, while doing excellent, is actually currently in the NICU for the week while he recoup and gets some antibiotics for an infection he got during delivery. I also got an infection (we’re still waiting on labs to confirm what it is that we both got), but I’ve been discharged.

Our amazing hospital actually has complimentary rooms for mamas to stay in if their babies are in the NICU, so I’m going down to see him and feed him often. Thankfully, my mom is here and is watching the girls since my husband and I can’t be in two places at once.

Whew! It’s true what they say that third births are unpredictable and can be a lot faster than previous experiences. I’m totally smitten with how squishy Logan’s face is, and I can’t wait to share more about him in the future. But for now…it’s time to take a nap!

  1. Congratulations! I am looking forward to your birth story – I am currently pregnant with my third and my second labor was an hour and a half long so that has me a little nervous. Enjoy your time with your new little one!
