Costco Military Hour
We’re big fans of Costco. Actually, scratch that. We’re HUGE fans. Like…we’re there once a week, and our kids even have a song we sing on our way over there. With that said, I’ve gotta thank FitFluential and Premier Protein for sponsoring this post and giving you the lowdown on something really cool happening at Costco. As if we couldn’t love Costco any more, they’re having a special Military Hour on Saturday, March 24, at 8 am only for active duty military and veterans, and their families.
Say what?! A whole hour in Costco before it opens? SIGN. US. UP!
Not only that, but during that hour they’ll have product demos (I swear I’m going to buy that Dyson Animal they’re always showing one of these days), delicious snacks, and of course, their free samples.
Oh, the samples…let’s not even get me started on how much we all love their samples.
You get a sample, and YOU get a sample…EVERYONE GETS A SAMPLE!
And speaking of more awesome Costco free things, the first 100 people in line will get a special swag bag filled with extra surprises and goodies. It’s a darn good thing my kids are early risers, so you better believe we’ll be in line early to snag one of those!
Find a Costco Military Hour Near You
So here’s the deal: Before you head on over to your local Costco, make sure it’s on the list of participating places. Only 117 Costco stores will have this special Military Hour, and you need to sign up ahead of time.
Make sure you have your military ID, and your Costco membership card ready to flash as you walk through the doors on Saturday morning.
If you’re not a Costco member yet, they’re offering a super special membership just for military. If you need any coaxing to sign up, let me know and I can be the nudge you need get that membership. Costco, oh how we love you.
What to Buy During Your Costco Military Hour
I have a whole post on our favorite Costco things, but I just discovered Premier Protein Shakes, and I’m totally sold.
Not only do they taste great—you can pick up some in vanilla, chocolate, or caramel flavors—but it comes with the great Costco price, they have 30 grams of protein, only 1 gram of sugar, and 160 calories, and Costco is the only place that sells these hormone free protein shakes. Plus, for those of you doing Weight Watchers, that comes out to only 2 SmartPoints, which is a total win in my book.
If you’re curious how to drink it, here are some ideas:
- On the rocks (over ice)
- Straight out of the carton (some like it room temp, some like it cold)
- In a smoothie
- As coffee creamer
- Blended with a banana for a guilt-free “milkshake”
- Heat up the chocolate one for a hot chocolate
So many delicious options!

What’s your favorite thing to buy at Costco?
Sounds like I need to get on the Costco train! I’ve heard a lot of good things, and it’s really great that they do special events for military families! Thanks for the information!
I mean, if anything, just get a membership to save on gas if there’s one near you 😉
I know sooo many people who love Costco. I really should check it out one of these days.
YES!!! Costco is so great 🙂
We love Costco!! We were actually just there today. I’m not sure what our 1 favorite thing to get at Costco is we LOVE it ALL!! The things we get all the time are Hummus, Potstickers and Fruit Snacks. But really we always leave Costco spending way more than we planned.
Ooooh, those potstickers are delicious! We have some in our freezer now 😉 My husband and I make a game out of seeing who can guess the closest total. It helps lesson the blow when that number comes up!
This is so awesome! I sent the link to my sister so she could see if their local Costco was participating, thanks!
They need to do this every week for military members!
That is so awesome they are doing it! Love this idea!
What a great way to giveback! My daughter loves going to Costco for the samples. We always come away with meatballs. I heard they now have acai, so I may renew my membership! I also love printing photos there. Thanks for sharing.
