Breakfast in Oahu: Waikiki Beachside Kitchen

One of our absolute favorite meals when we visited Hawaii was also the cheapest. Our breakfast in Oahu was from a literal tiny hole-in-the-wall called Waikiki Beachside Kitchen; it was simply perfect.

Whenever we visit a new city I love researching and finding the best places to eat so we can try the local food. But this time I didn’t research anything, since relaxing was the name of the game.

Since it was a beautiful morning, we decided to walk from our hotel, play breakfast by ear…enjoying the sights along the way.

Thankfully Waikiki Beachside Kitchen happened to be right next door to our scooter rental place that we were doing that morning (more on that adventure next week), so it worked out perfectly.

Waikiki Beachside Kitchen

By the time we arrived at Waikiki Beachside Kitchen we were ridiculously excited for breakfast.

The menu was simple, and I truly wish we went back a second (and third) time to try more things.

We usually like to try different things, so we can have a variety of tastes, but there was only one thing calling our name that morning: some classic spam and eggs.

It. Was. AMAZING.

I don’t know if it’s because we worked up an appetite walking there, or because it was all made on in the teeniest kitchen ever, but it was total comfort food, and the perfect start to our day.

Tips: get there early and/or be prepared to wait. And unless you’re super lucky and snag a spot at the twos seats in the joint, be prepared to take your food elsewhere. The beach is a hop, skip, and a jump away, so just plan on eating breakfast on the sand.

If you’re looking for a delicious and cheap breakfast in Oahu, I highly recommend you check out Waikiki Beachside Kitchen.
