Our Favorite Books About Moving for Kids
Whether you’re PCSing with the military or moving across town, it’s a big, big deal, especially for kids. I rounded up our favorite books about moving for kids, especially for little ones who may not know how to cope with all the big feelings they’re experiencing, or will encounter in the days leading up to the actual move.

Several of these books were recommended to us, so I went down the rabbit hole and got as many as I could, hoping they’d strike a chord with at least one of my kids.
Favorite Kid Books About Moving

Keep in mind that you don’t need to buy all of these.
Pro tip: Check and see if your local library has any of them, and take advantage of borrowing them before you move (if you can).
Then, if there are any really special ones that your kids gravitate towards, you can buy those specific books.
Max’s Moving Adventure Coloring and Activities Book: A Coloring Book for Kids on the Move
My Very Exciting, Sorta Scary, Big Move: A workbook for children moving to a new home

Because I don’t want to overwhelm the kids, we pick one book to read every week.
I want the move to be on their mind, but not so much so that it freaks them out or makes them more nervous.
The Berenstain Bears’ Moving Day
The Great Big Move: A Surprisingly Exciting Adventure (Surprisingly Exciting Adventures)
Moving to the Neighborhood (Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood)
